GoBible Traveler Versions and Audio Samples

The GoBible® Traveler™ is available in three versions, The King James Version (KJV) as read by Alexander Scourby, the New International Version (NIV) as read by Charles Taylor, and the Spanish language Nueva Versión Internacional read by Rafael Cruz.

The King James Version

Authorized by King James in 1604, this classic Bible translation was completed in 1611 and has remained one of the most popular Bible translations since. It is identifiable from its rhythm, prose and beautifully crafted language. The KJV has had a profound effect on literature, poetry and prose for almost four centuries.

The New International Version

The NIV was commissioned in the late 1960's and more than one hundred scholars worked for over a decade to complete the translation. Central to the project were certain goals for the NIV: that it be an accurate, beautiful, clear, and dignified translation suitable for public and private reading, teaching, preaching, memorizing, and liturgical use. The translators were united in their commitment to the authority and infallibility of the Bible as God's Word in written form. They agreed that faithful communication of the meaning of the original writers demands frequent modifications in sentence structure (resulting in a "thought-for-thought" translation) and constant regard for the contextual meanings of words.

The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) Catholic Edition

The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) Catholic Edition is fully approved for study by Catholics by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and is recognized in many scholarly circles worldwide as the most accurate translation to English from the original Hebrew and Greek texts. It contains all the canonical books of Scripture accepted by the Catholic church arranged in the traditional Catholic order. Imprimatur by the Most Rev. Daniel E. Pilarczyk, President, National Conference of Catholic Bishops.

1 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
6 Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

1 El Señor es mi *pastor, nada me falta;
2 en verdes pastos me hace descansar.
Junto a tranquilas aguas me conduce;
3 me infunde nuevas *fuerzas.
Me guía por sendas de *justicia
por amor a su *nombre.
4 Aun si voy por valles tenebrosos,
no temo peligro alguno
porque tú estás a mi lado;
tu vara de pastor me reconforta.
5 Dispones ante mí un banquete
en presencia de mis enemigos.
Has ungido con perfume mi cabeza;
has llenado mi copa a rebosar.
6 La bondad y el amor me seguirán
todos los días de mi vida;
y en la casa del Señor
habitaré para siempre.

51 I am the living bread that
came down from heaven. Whoever eats of this
bread will live forever; and the bread that I will
give for the life of the world is my flesh."
52 The Jews then disputed among themselves,
saying, "How can this man give us his
flesh to eat?" 53 So Jesus said to them, "Very truly,
I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son
of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in
you. 54 Those who eat my flesh and drink my
blood have eternal life, and I will raise them up
on the last day; 55 for my flesh is true food and
my blood is true drink. 56Those who eat my
flesh and drink my blood abide in me, and I in
them. 57Just as the living Father sent me, and
I live because of the Father, so whoever eats me
will live because of me. 58 This is the bread
that came down from heaven, not like that
which your ancestors ate, and they died. But the
one who eats this bread will live forever."

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
